Pens disappoint, blow lead to Flyers, again
Well, if you didn’t like yesterday’s action between the Flyers and the Penguins, I don’t know what to tell you. You are going to have to get used to it as they meet one more time in the regular season, then are careening towards a first round playoff series.
The Penguins, just like the two previous meetings controlled play early and got up 2-0 on the Flyers. Flyers coach once again called a time out, and that was it from there with the Flyers dominating play.
I don’t know what is scarier, the fact that maybe our thoughts of the Pens peaking to early were correct, the fact that the Flyers have never lost a single game at the CEC, or the fact that the Penguins are a whopping one for five against the Flyers this year.
I don’t know what is more laughable, the fact that the Flyers pride themselves on being big bad bullies but cry and dive at every chance, the fact that their coach screams at another to the point that it should be fire-able for something he himself would have done (picture below), or the fact that a player on that team would taunt fans of the opposing, let alone a cancer survivor.
Sullivan scored two, James Neal, and Chris Kunitz also scored for the Pens. Crosby, Malkin, and Dupuis all notched assists. Talbot the traitor scored for the Flyers, it amazes me how many girls, obviously from Pittsburgh, went ahead and bought a Talbot Flyers jersey. He didn’t care about you when he was here and he definitely doesn’t care for you now, you can get over him.
At the 18:57 mark all hell broke loose, the Flyers took eight penalties, the Pens took seven.
Flyers penalties looked like this
10 B.SCHENN 2 Unsportsmanlike conduct
17 W.SIMMONDS 5 Fighting (maj)

43 M.BOURDON 2 Unsportsmanlike conduct
48 D.BRIERE 2 Unsportsmanlike conduct
10 B.SCHENN 2 Roughing

45 A.ASHAM 2 Unsportsmanlike conduct
27 C.ADAMS 2 Unsportsmanlike conduct
46 J.VITALE 2 Unsportsmanlike conduct
45 A.ASHAM 10 Misconduct (10 min)
TEAM 2 Delay of game - bench
2 M.NISKANEN 2 Unsportsmanlike conduct
Pens lose 6-4
Really disappointing to know it came to this, but buckle up, we will be seeing it a lot over the next few weeks. Whatever the problem is for the Penguins against Philly they’d better figure it out, because at this rate the Penguins will be watching from home after the first round. The Flyers are one point behind the Pens for fourth place and home ice, the Penguins, though not mathematically eliminated, are no longer in the running for the Division or Conference crowns or the President’s Trophy.
Next game for the Pens is tomorrow when they take on the Bruins in Boston, puck drop is at 7:30 catch the action locally on Root Sports.
