Game 1: Pens V Flyers @ 7:30 on ROOT

Well, It is finally here!!!!!!! The moment all Pens and Flyers fans have been waiting for....... Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarter finals is tonight @ 7:30. Who will come away victorious? Will the Flyers steal one @ CEC or will Geno, Sid and the gang take it to the pesky Flyers in front of the home crowd? Only time will tell, but until then we can only speculate how this heated rivalry will play out in a best of seven of series of cross state rivals.

It will be a WHITEOUT @ CEC tonight as Marc Andre Fleury gets the start against the brutal Philadelphia Flyers.  James Neal will suit up for tonights matchup after missing the seasons last 2 games and Ben Lovejoy will suit up after recent Knee surgery in place of defenseman Matt Niskanen. Look for this to be a hard hitting affair as neither team cares much for one another especially since the "War of Words" broke out with Flyers coach Laviolette criticizing every bit of the Pens organization, players and coaches. Perhaps the Pens can use this as motivation (Not that they need it) in beating there much hated rivals. The Pens do have things they need to work on however. For instance, There Defense has been leaky as of late and the offense has been creating numerous turnovers, specifically in the neutral zone. Also, Fleury has been somewhat less dominate as of late (whether he was just going through a tough stretch or a long season is catching up with him we can't be sure). One thing is certain though, MAF must be nearly perfect in order for the Guinners to move to the 2nd round of the Stanley cup playoffs.

Befor we close lets just say a little prayer to baby Jesus here that the Pens can stay healthy throughout the post-season. Always an issue in the post-season with any team, the Pens have struggled in the last 2 seasons in staying healthy especially with there BIG name stars. If they should keep healthy and patch up a few iffy spots in their game look for the Guins to move past Flyers. I'm guessing The Pens win in 6 games. What do you think?
