Written by Brian:     Today the Penguins held a focus group in which they invited 15 season ticket holders to the Consol Energy Center to meet with various members of management from Aramark, Consol Energy Center, Pens front office, game day, and public relations. I was lucky enough to be selected to attend this meeting as a season ticket holder myself. There were season ticket holders from every walk of life there, from the people who sell every ticket, to the die hards, to the people who use their tickets to seal business deals, the old and the young. I’ll discuss some...

Written by Brian;   We all know this has gone above and beyond an epidemic. But after last night’s game where Eric Nystrom ran Kris Letang, no regard for the puck just looking to lay the player out I’ll admit I’m outraged. There has been no official word from the Penguins yet as to the status of Letang but it doesn’t take a doctor to realize he was not right. The sad part is, you have that gut feeling Nystrom wont even get a slap on the wrist for this.     Let’s look at some of the factors the Department of Player Safety is supposed to look at when determining...

Pens beat Stars, injuries, injuries

Written by Brian; The Pittsburgh Penguins went to Dallas and achieved victory, but you have to hate how it came about. Your main goals when playing a Western Conference team late in the season are;  1.)    Don’t allow anyone to gain any ground, basically, gain at least 1 point 2.)    Don’t have anyone get injured Pens were 1 for 2 in their goals. The Stars basically dominated play in the first period, went up 1-0 at about the 15 minute point. Pens tied it late, as Sullivan took a sick pass from Dupuis Dijon and went in on Lehtonen all alone....

Read his thoughts on the Norris Trophy.     (5) Martin Brodeur – As the hall of fame career of Devils netminder Marty Brodeur presses on we still find him playing solid between the pipes. Even though his numbers have dipped slightly ( 22 wins, .904 save % and GAA of 2.54 ) Brodeur still has the devils in 4th place in the eastern Conference and in a prime spot...

Letang for Norris?

02/23/2012 10:25
Written by Aaron:         For the last few seasons Penguins fans have had the chance to marvel at the play of defenseman Kris Letang. From overtime game-winners in the Stanley cup playoffs to crashing blows against the leagues finest forwards to blocking shots and playing stifling defense Kris Letang has become one the leagues most feared defenseman. An NHL all-star the past two seasons Letang has stepped into his role nicely since the sudden departure of Sergei Gonchar after the 09’ 10’ season. Kris Letang was one of the top candidates for the Norris...
