The Pens went to Jersey and did what they have barely done over the past 2 years, the won. The beat Brodeur on his turf.
Usually when the Pens travel to New Jersey final score is 3-1 after NJ dumps one into an empty net. When the Pens win however, it always seems to be 5-2 and that was your final score yesterday.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
The Pens continue the Crosby comeback tour of the Atlantic Division this afternoon in New Jersey.
The Devils are only four points behind the Penguins in the race for the division and Conference crown. The Devils are 6-3-1 in their last ten and always give the Penguins fits, especially when they play in Jersey.

Jets fans chant "Crosby's Better" to mock Ovechkin

Last night the Capitals were in Winnipeg to take on the Jets.
The hometown Jets fans trolled Ovechkin by chanting "Crosby's Better" It goes on for a good minute while he's on the ice.
The broadcast guys even acknowledge the chant.

The Penguins are in New York City to take on the Rangers tonight in what is one on the most anticipated games of the season.
The Penguins are a mere six points behind the Rangers for the lead in both the Atlantic Division and the Eastern Conference.
Kris Letang will be making his return after missing a number of games after receiving an unpunished headshot from Dallas Stars’ forward Eric Nystrom.

Sure, it’s easy to be a writer when the team you a covering is playing poorly. You can never run out of material as you become a phony coach and gm making fantasy roster moves and line changes. But when the team you follow is playing extremely well is when it becomes more difficult.

Earlier in the week this had the potential to be a huge game, two of the top four in the East, nationally televised and possibly the return of Sidney Crosby. But as game time loomed closer it became apparent that Sid would not be returning to the lineup for the tilt against the Bruins. I was approached by the members of the Baden Fire Department in Baden Pa which is in Beaver County to help promote an event they have coming up on March 31, 2012.

The Pittsburgh Penguins, winners of 6 in a row are going streaking as they welcomed the Toronto Maple Leafs into the newly statued Consol Energy Center for a 7:30 game on national TV.
The Maple Leafs played the Boston Bruins yesterday in a hard fought battle in which the Leafs came away battered, one would think this would be an easy W for the Guins especially surrounding today’s tributes to 66.

As most of you have already heard Sidney Crosby is ramping up his on ice workouts to full contact in preparation for a return to game action. YAY!!!!!!!! However, recent posts on facebook have lead me to be dis-heartened by Pens fans as many of there responses were increbibly negative. Many such posts went something like this: "Sid coming back....Geno's still better!" Well, with all due respect to the opinions of others, does it really matter? Fact is Pens fans have had the chance to marvel at the skill and absolute domination of both players over the last 5 years or so....
